JOB PURPOSE:
Responsibleforsafeandefficientoperationandmaintenanceofvariouspumps,motors,boilers, turbines, generators, and related activities as deemed necessary by the Shift Supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR SPECIAL TRAINING:
EXPERIENCE AND
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Two(2) years’experienceasapowerplantoperator,withemphasisonconventionalsteam generating units and gas turbine-combined cycle units.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Routinelymonitorsandlogsplantequipmentindicatorstoensuresafe,effective operation.
Performsminormaintenanceusingbasichandtoolsandsupports Craftspersonnelduring outages and planned maintenance activities.
Monitorsequipmentmotors,pumps,cooling towers,acidandphosphatefeeder,fueloiltanks, water wells, reverse osmosis systems, and other equipment by way of control systems and sensory observation.
Operates chlorine,acid,phosphate,fueloil,condenser,waterwell,citywatermakeup,water, treatment, and other plant equipment in accordance with safe operating practices.
Assistsandmaintainscommunicationwiththe Control Room Operatortoensurethatprocesses are carried out correctly and efficiently.
Wearsprotectiveclothingandsafetyequipmentasrequiredinperformingjob functions.
Continuouslytrainstoassureaneffectiveandefficientoperationofequipmentand functions.
Adherestothe Company’ssafetypoliciesand procedures.
Mustpossessavaliddriver’slicenseandbeincompliancewith
El Paso Electric Company’s
Driving Policy.
Complieswithallapplicable Company policies,procedures,andcodeofethicsaswellasall applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
Performsotherrelatedtasksthatarenotincludedbutarewithinthecontextofduties defined.
