The BD Excellence Staff Engineer is responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain, and support functions. This role drives the deployment and sustainability of the BD Excellence Management System by utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, problem-solving methodologies, and operational excellence tools to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement. This position serves as a change agent, coach, and facilitator, partnering with site leadership and cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, eliminate waste, standardize processes, and drive a culture of continuous improvement aligned with BD’s strategic objectives.

BD Excellence Deployment Lead and support implementation of BD Excellence strategies, standards, and best practices across the site. Facilitate BDEX maturity assessments and support action plans to close identified gaps. Promote a continuous improvement culture throughout all levels of the organization. Support the integration of BDEX principles into daily management systems.

Lead Kaizen events, Rapid Improvement Workshops, Value Stream Mapping activities, and Lean projects. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and operational performance. Facilitate cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions. Drive waste elimination efforts focused on safety, quality, inventory, motion, transportation, waiting, overproduction, and defects.

Analyze operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Develop performance dashboards and visual management systems. Support achievement of site goals related to safety, quality, service, cost, and inventory. Monitor project performance and ensure realization of targeted benefits.

Lead site-level strategic improvement projects from inception to completion. Develop project plans, timelines, risk assessments, and stakeholder communication plans. Track and report project progress to site leadership. Ensure sustainability plans are established and maintained following project implementation.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, operational excellence, continuous improvement, engineering, quality, or related functions. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Experience leading cross-functional projects and improvement initiatives. Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills. Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Excel, and data analysis tools.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification. Medical device, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing industry experience.…
