Overview

Texas Oncology Joe Battle, El Paso is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team! This full‑time position is located at 3270 Joe Battle #312, El Paso, TX. It supports The Hospitals of Providence East Campus and serves medical oncology/hematology patients. Typical hours are Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What is the Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)?

The LTIP is an incentive program that typically vests over three years and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary and reviewed annually; they require continued employment through the award payment date and are governed by the LTIP terms.

What Does the Advanced Practice Provider Do?

The primary role of the APP is to provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care in collaboration with practice physicians. APPs support the US Oncology Compliance Program and uphold the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Direct care and management in the outpatient, inpatient, and surgical settings, including documentation of visits, patient and family education, ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, managing symptoms, counseling, and coordinating referrals.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the care team.
  • Use the Electronic Health Record proficiently and document per Texas Oncology policy.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization and the local medical community.
  • Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures as appropriate.
  • Participate in tumor boards, institutional trainings, and required meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner training.

Minimum experience:

Level 1 (0‑3 years), Level 2 (3 years), Level Sr (6 years). Current RN state licensure, Nurse Practitioner registration, and BLS/CPR certification required.

Physician Assistant
Accredited Physician Assistant program completion and current NCCPA certification.

Minimum experience:

Level 1 (0‑3 years), Level 2 (3 years), Level Sr (6 years). Current state license and BLS/CPR certification required.

Clinical Nurse Specialist
MSN from an accredited program and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist training.

Minimum experience:

Level 1 (0‑3 years), Level 2 (3 years), Level Sr (6 years). Current RN state licensure, Clinical Nurse Specialist registration, and BLS/CPR certification required.

Physical Demands

Requires full range of motion, patient handling, lifting patients, manual dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs., and corrected vision and hearing within normal limits. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

Work Environment

Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
