Schedule- Night shift
- 12‑hour shifts 7PM to 7AM
- 4 or 5 shifts per week
This is a distinctive opportunity for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to gain invaluable experience working in a government healthcare setting, providing essential health care services within a multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for nursing professionals looking to experience working in a unique travel position. By contributing in various capacities such as ambulatory, emergency, mental health, and infirmary care, you'll enhance your professional skills while serving a critical mission.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients within discipline Scope of Practice.
- Administer medications through various routes as ordered.
- Conduct prescreening and intake screening using established tools.
- Execute treatments such as wound care and electrocardiograms as ordered.
- Collect laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide stabilization care.
- Support other healthcare professionals with patient data and education.
- Participate in involuntary, court-ordered care if required.
- Graduate from a Vocational/Practical Nurse program approved by a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory.
- Minimum of one-year experience in a hospital, medical office, or outpatient clinical setting.
- Maintains a current, full, and unrestricted LVN/LPN license by the state.
- Maintains BLS for Healthcare Providers® certification through the American Heart Association®.
- Experience in detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting.
- Certified Correctional Health Professional or Certified Corrections Nurse credential.
- Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in using diagnostic and treatment equipment. - Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
- Skilled in navigating electronic health records and communication systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
