The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization’s vision and mission.
Utilizes knowledge of patient’s developmental age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient and family-centered care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
- Work Experience:
- Full Time – None required.
- Part Time, PRN, Contract, and Travelers – At least one year experience required.
- License/Registration/Certification:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or Compact Licensure.
- Certification by Unit:
- Upon Hire: RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC.
- Departments with additional certifications required within 6, 12, or 18 months: PICU, Pediatrics, IMCU, Hematology/Oncology, NICU, Perioperative Services, Emergency Dept, Float Pool, Transport, Nurse Imaging, Multispecialty Center.
- * For Float Pool, ACLS and PALS are required upon hire.
- ** For Emergency Department RNs, NRP is required within 12 months and STABLE within 18 months.
- Education and Training:
- Associate degree in Nursing required.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
