Job Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) PCU - Progressive Care Unit at The Hospitals of Providence in El Paso, Texas. This ongoing staff position requires a full‑time 36‑hour per week, 12‑hour day shift. The role provides direct clinical patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and supervision of staff. The RN supports the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure high‑quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management at the unit level.

• Provide high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on the nursing process.
• Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control.
• Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administer all medications safely and timely per hospital policy.
• Fulfill all HICS responsibilities, tasks, and roles during emergencies and disasters.
• Know the Hospital’s emergency codes, purpose, and appropriate actions; adhere to hospital policies and procedures for emergency codes.

• Required:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.

• Required:
  
  1 year of RN experience for PRN status.
• Preferred:
  Recent acute care experience.

• Required:
  
  Current license, certification, or registration to practice in the state of employment; AHA BLS; and, if applicable by corporate policy for the unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
