L&D Travel Nurses provide care and support for women before, during and after delivery of a baby. They must ensure the medical and emotional needs of their patients are met throughout the birthing process.

As an L&D RN, you will assist physicians with epidural and pain medication administration, episiotomies, and preparation for cesarean delivery.

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression.
• Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids.
• Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
• Provide immediate care of newborn.

• ACLS, BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
