Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

El Paso, Texas

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-Hour Shifts per Week | Onsite

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and pediatric intensive care patients across a 19-bed unit (10 PICU and 9 Pediatric beds)
• Manage patient ratios of 1:2 for PICU, 1:3–1:4 for IMC, and 1:5–1:6 for general pediatric patients
• Assist with and monitor procedures including lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, and conscious sedation
• Operate and monitor unit equipment including ICU pumps, syringe pumps, and patient monitoring systems using Meditech EMR
• Care for patients ranging from post-surgical diagnoses such as appendicitis to critically ill patients requiring vaso-active drips and mechanical ventilation
• Fulfill weekend requirements of approximately 4 weekends per month (Saturday and Sunday for day shift)

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS (ALS) certification
• Current PALS certification
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Pediatric ICU experience required; candidates without this experience will not be considered

• Combined Pediatric and Pediatric ICU clinical experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
• Experience with vaso-active drip management and mechanical ventilation support
• Adaptable team player who embraces constructive feedback and thrives in a dynamic environment

• Work within a unique and growing unit that manages a broad spectrum of pediatric care, from general surgical cases to critically ill patients requiring intensive intervention
• Permanent positions on the unit are available, offering potential long-term opportunity beyond the initial contract assignment
