The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN directs and coordinates all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. The RN collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes, supports the organization’s vision and mission, utilizes knowledge of patients’ developmental age and cultural diversity to provide patient‑ and family‑centered care, and contributes to quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes.
Qualifications- Work Experience
- Full time – No experience required.
- Part‑time, PRN, contract, or traveler – Minimum one year of experience.
- Float pool, transport, nurse imaging, and multispecialty center (any work status) – Minimum one year of experience.
- License/Registration/Certification
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or has Compact Licensure.
- Certification by Unit (required within specified time frames)
- Base certifications for all units: RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC.
- Additional unit‑specific requirements:
- PICU – RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS upon hire; additional certifications within 6, 12, and 18 months as needed.
- Pediatrics – RN, BLS, PALS upon hire; additional certifications within 6, 12, and 18 months.
- IMCU – RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS upon hire; additional certifications within 6, 12, and 18 months.
- Hematology/Oncology – RN, BLS, ACLS upon hire; additional certifications within 6, 12, 18 months.
- NICU – RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE upon hire; additional certifications within 6, 12, 18 months.
- Perioperative Services – RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS, APHON, TNCC, ENPC upon hire; additional certifications within 6, 12, 18 months.
- Emergency Dept – RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE upon hire; additional certifications within 6, 12, and 18 months.
- Float pool, transport, nurse imaging, multispecialty center – RN, BLS, ACLS, PALS upon hire; additional certifications within 6, 12, 18 months.
- Education and Training
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Possesses critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
