El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo is hiring a Registered Nurse GI

Welcome to El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo. We have 1 OR room and 3 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in gastroenterology. Position requires weekdays only—no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, executing, directing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to endoscopy patients. Nursing care ranges from preoperative intervention to intraoperative and postoperative evaluation while meeting the patient’s needs and ensuring continuity of care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
  • Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
  • Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age‑specific and universal precaution practices at all times. Monitor patient progress and identify any changes in status, acting on those changes to ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status throughout the procedure process.
  • Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
  • Support and demonstrate continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
  • May perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current Texas state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required (must have current ACLS or achieve within 6 months of hire).
  • CGRN board eligible/certified preferred.
  • One‑year endoscopy/ambulatory experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
