Operating Room Nurse

The Hospitals of Providence is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) OR – Operating Room for a nursing job in ElPaso, Texas.

Shift: 12 hours.

Employment Type:

Staff. Job Shift: Day. Job Type: Full Time. This role provides direct clinical patient care.

• Assume responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients per shift and unit level.
• Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated.
• Accountable to support the CNO in ensuring high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care; competence of clinical staff; and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
• Provide high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on the nursing process.
• Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control; aim to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care.
• Plan and coordinate patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administer all medications safely and timely per hospital policy.
• Perform and fulfill all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles during emergency and/or disaster situations.
• Know the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate actions for each, and adhere to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (preferred).

• Recent acute care experience (preferred).

• Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy.
• AHA BLS.
• When applicable by corporate policy: AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP.
