• Provides high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients.
• Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
• Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
• Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
• Performs and fulfills all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster.
• Knows the hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
• Assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care for assigned patients on a per shift basis, and at the unit level.
• Supervises staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and supports the CNO to ensure high‑quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.

Preferred:
Recent acute‑care experience.

Required:

Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice in the state of Texas. Must have AHA BLS and, if applicable, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
