Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Medical Oncology Department at our Joe Battle, El Paso, Tx location. This is a full-time Monday‑Friday position (8:30 am–5 pm) with no weekends, on‑call or major holiday duties.

What is the Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)?

The LTIP typically vests over a three‑year period and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary, based on position, performance, and future career growth, and are reviewed and approved during the annual compensation review. LTIP awards are contingent on continued employment through the award payment date and are governed by the written terms and conditions of the LTIP document.

What

does the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care to patients, adhering to national and company standards and specialty regulations. The RN recognizes the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care, actively participates in quality initiatives, and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.
  • Assess patient health status through interview and review of clinical history.
  • Identify patient/family needs and provide education and instructional materials.
  • Offer psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage medication refill requests via pharmacy phone line and update patient charts.
  • Coordinate consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests, procedures, referrals, and future appointments.
  • Triage patient calls as needed and document information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, coordinating related services.
  • Assist patients in locating community resources.
  • Collaborate professionally with colleagues.
  • Serve as a resource for LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
  • Willingness to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidates.
  • Current RN state license in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Working Conditions

The work environment includes possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Requirements

Full range of motion, including patient transfer and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, and mandatory standing and walking for extensive periods. Occasional lifting of up to 40 lb. Corrected vision and hearing at normal ranges required.
