The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Las Palmas Medical Center is a year‑long program designed to give nursing graduates hands‑on experience, establishing clinical and critical‑thinking skills. The resident will receive advanced clinical training, monthly education, preceptorship, simulation evaluation, mentoring, and evidence‑based project collaboration.
Job Summary and QualificationsThe program provides the tools necessary to transition from classroom to clinical practice. Benefits include paid experience and structured learning.
Cohort Start Dates / Specialties Available- Summer 2026 – Med Surg
- Assess patient condition during admission and at each shift, identifying and reporting any changes.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered, documenting care promptly.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor response, notify provider, and intervene when necessary.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate needs, and resolve them proactively.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up, translating complex terminology for complete understanding.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
- Additional certifications may be required during employment.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse in the state.
- No previous experience required.
- Some travel may be required for training.
- Comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, behavioral health and telemedicine services.
