Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in El Paso, Texas.

• Explain procedures and treatments to pediatric patients and families to ensure understanding and emotional support during critical situations.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per pediatric nursing techniques and protocols.
• Prepare and operate advanced medical equipment (e.g., ventilators, central line setups, hemodynamic monitors) and assist physicians during treatments and examinations.
• Continuously observe and evaluate patient conditions, document significant findings, and promptly notify physicians of critical changes or adverse reactions.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and clinical data to detect deviations from normal, initiating rapid interventions when necessary.
• Respond to life-saving situations in accordance with pediatric ICU standards, policies, and protocols.
• Initiate patient education plans according to patient and family needs, as prescribed by a physician and/or hospital policy.
• Document relevant history and physical assessments in the medical records.
• Perform other duties within the scope of practice and adhere to hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

• One year of recent PICU RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification.

• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• CCRN certification.
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.

The PICU Registered Nurse provides advanced specialized care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in high-acuity settings. This role includes comprehensive patient assessment, implementing complex care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills.
• Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
• Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel to maintain professionalism.
• Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
• Mental Requirements - Ability to cope with frequent contact with the public and meet deadlines under pressure; able to work under close supervision occasionally and handle irregular schedules.
• Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and effective communication abilities.
