Nurse Supervisor
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the clinical leadership and coordination of all nursing personnel. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Supervisor will assure quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process, as outlined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring unit goals, objectives and Standards of Performance are met as well as to develop, coordinate and implement clinical activities and staff development.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required;
Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of two to four (2-4) years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, including Charge Nurse, Supervisor experience required. Must have thorough working knowledge of Hospital, Nursing, and Management of Human Resources policies and procedures, with demonstrated ability to use skills in clinical and managerial situations.
Licensure:
Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements:
Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. Must have and maintain current CPR certification upon hire. Successful completion of Handle With Care to include physical hold and verbal de-escalation training during orientation.
