Role Overview
The Med Surg Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for leading nursing staff, ensuring safe patient care, and maintaining efficient unit operations.
Role OverviewThe Med Surg Charge Nurse (RN) is responsible for leading nursing staff, ensuring safe patient care, and maintaining efficient unit operations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise staff, delegate assignments, and support team development.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Provide direct clinical care, assess patient needs, and develop care plans.
- Monitor medical charts, administer medications, and ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, families, and administrative staff.
- Mentor and train new staff members.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
- Ensure adherence to emergency protocols and hospital policies, including HICS responsibilities.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program;
Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred. - Minimum of 1 year RN experience.
- Current licensure and certifications including AHA BLS; ACLS, PALS, or NRP as applicable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills.
