Role Overview: The Oncology Charge Nurse (RN) coordinates and supervises nursing staff in delivering quality oncology care, ensuring smooth unit operations and effective shift transitions.
Key Responsibilities: Supports patient and family education, collaborates with physicians and staff, maintains professional nursing standards, and acts as a liaison among care team members.
Qualifications: Requires a graduate of an accredited nursing school, with at least 1 year of RN experience. A bachelor's or master's degree in nursing is preferred. Valid RN licensure in Texas or a compact state is mandatory.
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS), with ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certification within 6 months of hire. ACLS is preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Demonstrates proficiency in acute care nursing, effective communication, and professionalism. Proficient in patient care equipment and computer skills, with the ability to serve as a role model and advocate for nursing practice.
