Pay Rate & Commission

$11.00 to $13.00 per hour. An easily achievable commission structure pays you for every transaction processed. Pawnbrokers and retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on sales, averaging an additional $1.75 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

• Best working hours: most stores open 9AM–6PM; many stores closed on Sundays.

Entry‑level, part‑time sales associates are sought for pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire store staff to provide top‑notch customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and interacting with customers, processing sales, loans, and other transactions, and interacting with a wide range of merchandise—including jewelry, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

• Greet and interact with all customers, building rapport to recommend appropriate solutions.
• Perform non‑management open/close procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock levels on the sales floor.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle all cash and negotiable items per established guidelines.
• Answer incoming calls following company standards.
• Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers, demonstrating respect.
• Partner with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully complete assigned training.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

• Willingness and ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform extended physical tasks (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, etc.).
• Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification if required.
• Capability to assist customers outside store premises and retrieve products from external storage.
• Minimum age 18 and possession of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work with people, prioritize customer service, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and perform basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work at multiple locations and on a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literacy and proficiency with Point‑of‑Sale (POS) and common office machines.

The commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit of their personal performance. Detailed information will be provided during the interview process. The commission plan may be adjusted at any time.

Pay rates will not be below any applicable local minimum wage requirements.
