Keyholder Overview

With moderate supervision, the Retail Keyholder assists the store management team in executing and supervising all store activities. They provide outstanding guest service experiences within a sales culture that utilizes elements of Game Stop’s Circle of Life buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly, assist guests in meeting video gaming needs, inform about promotions and trade-in program, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors, and express gratitude.
  • Support the overall shopping environment and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS computer system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and courteously to ensure every guest receives top-notch service.
  • Promote Game Stop’s unique guest benefits, such as the title reservation program and the Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
  • Ensure store areas, including restrooms, are clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines and that all fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
  • Complete Omni-Channel orders daily and safeguard company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices.
  • Conduct store inventory counts, stock restock merchandise, and manage product flow from the stock room to the front of the store.
  • Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
  • Count, balance, and reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately in the POS system and perform bank deposits following established guidelines.
  • Check shipments for discrepancies, record them, and report to the manager as needed.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately and promptly.
  • Visually inspect associates’ and leaders’ packages at store closing or shift end.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
  • Consistently adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures and observe associate performance to provide timely and appropriate feedback to management.
Qualifications
  • Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • At least 18 years old and high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

  • Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including extended hours/days as necessary and a minimum of 3 days per week availability.
  • Remain effective under pressure and handle stress in an acceptable manner.
  • Bend, stoop, reach with arms/hands, climb ladders, and lift merchandise weighing up to 30 lbs. from ground level to a minimum height of 4 feet.
