We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee to join our team. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in a fast-tracking path into Store Management. A minimum of 1 year retail management experience is required. Pay rate: $13.00 to $22.40 per hour.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six (6+) months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the store and promoting a positive/productive environment. This position will partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction.
This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment. The role includes analyzing store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met, supporting asset protection, promoting the business, and targeting new customer acquisitions. Employees work with jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more. The position offers an hourly wage plus potential commission and bonuses based on store performance, location, qualifications, and experience.
- Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and protect assets.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control and safe procedures for loans and merchandise.
- Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, and reporting.
- Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of loans.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
- Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store’s mission and objectives.
- Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
- The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties as required.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- Minimum Age: 18 years old;
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. - Ability to work in multiple locations as needed and to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Store Manager Trainee will work 45+ hours a week; hours are not guaranteed and vary by business needs.
- Computer literate and able to use POS systems and standard office equipment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Cash handling experience required; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.

- Standard operating hours: most stores open 9AM–6PM; some locations closed on Sundays.

- Vacation: paid leave after six months (one week); after one year, two weeks; additional vacation time with tenure as described in policy.
