HVAC Service Sales Representative
The HVAC Service Sales Representative is critical to the overall growth and profitability of the HVAC Service business. You will be responsible for initiating, establishing, and building profitable service relationships between new customers and Johnson Controls (JCI).
Responsibilities- Initiate, establish, and build profitable service relationships between new customers and JCI.
- Sell renewable maintenance agreements and projects within an assigned geographic territory.
- Utilize sales tools to plan and document sales progress and increase business opportunity in current accounts.
- Obtain and close business on a monthly basis.
- Identify, target, and qualify prospective new customers by following a disciplined and professional process.
- Contact prospective customers, schedule appointments, and build a referral network.
- Conduct sales calls to identify key problems and consult with Facility Directors on facility maintenance.
- Develop a sense of urgency to resolve needs and position Johnson Controls as the supplier of choice.
- Propose solutions with local branch service capabilities, focusing on renewable maintenance agreements and digital service offerings.
- Review and finalize proposals with prospects and secure commitment.
- Conduct customer kick‑off meetings, resolve issues, create pull‑through opportunities, and support collections.
- Report progress and account status using Salesforce; call for assistance as needed.
- Develop and implement territory marketing plans aligned with building solutions business strategy.
- Attend and present at trade shows and professional organizations.
- Represent Johnson Controls professionally in all business activities.
- MUST bring prior selling experience in the commercial HVAC industry.
- Proven performance in commercial sales roles with demonstrable results.
- Aptitude for technical knowledge with high attention to detail.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to captivate in individual or group settings.
- Experience selling service and intangibles.
- Exposure to sales methodologies, standards, and disciplines.
- Post‑secondary education.
- Previous experience in Salesforce.
Salary range: $70,000 – $92,000 annual. Compensation is based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The position also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan based on project, quarterly, and annual margin. Additional benefits include a comprehensive benefits package such as 401(k), medical, dental, vision, paid vacation (15 days first year), and more.
