The program is a comprehensive, sales‑specific training designed to fast‑track the growth and development of new Outside Sales Representatives/Account Managers. Participants work closely with sales leaders in a 6–12 month program to develop the skills, customer and supplier relationships, and knowledge needed to succeed in outside sales.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in classroom, independent study, and on‑the‑job training to learn the White Cap’s business model, products, vendors, customer needs, jobsite environment, systems, competitors, pricing, sales approach, and selling skills.
  • Prepares and executes account plans.
  • Sells White Cap value proposition and products.
  • Learns about making effective jobsite or office sales calls by riding along with the District Sales Manager or experienced Account Managers.
  • Enters and processes customer orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements

Operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle is required; driving will be performed consistently more than 80% of the average work week. An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report will be required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field or one to two years of sales or related field experience.
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable interacting with team members.
  • Strong self‑governance, a proactive approach, personal accountability, and independence.
  • Competitive nature with a drive to succeed.
  • Goal‑oriented with personal accountability to deliver on metrics.
  • Open to feedback and willing to take action to improve performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize daily activities.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
Compensation

Targeted base salary: $37,000 per year. Eligible for additional variable compensation with a starting target of $80,000 per year. Compensation will be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data.
