Construction Account Manager – Crescent Electric
We invite individuals of all backgrounds to apply for the Construction Account Manager role. In this position, you will create and maintain solid, long‑term business relationships with customers on behalf of Crescent Electric, aiming to reach sales and gross margin goals through prospecting, soliciting orders, identifying customer needs, and proposing appropriate products and services.
Responsibilities- Complete a business plan for assigned accounts in Crescent’s CRM tool.
- Develop a sustainable sales/profit volume in assigned territory.
- Regularly make in‑person sales calls to prospective customers and existing establishments.
- Introduce and demonstrate new products and services.
- Assist industrial customers by pricing bills of material.
- Utilize a conservative sales approach, offer add‑on and upsell products, and suggest alternatives when a requested product is unavailable.
- Cultivate and maintain long‑term relationships with construction customers and suppliers.
- Assist and resolve customer requests or problems promptly and professionally.
- Keep customers informed about relevant company and vendor policies.
- Communicate competitive conditions, observed customer financial weakness, and customer feedback to management.
- Cooperate with suppliers to secure mutual business through joint sales calls.
- Execute sales effort in an ethical and professional manner that reflects favorably on both the salesperson and the company.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or training.
- Previous knowledge of the wholesale electrical distribution industry and construction sales experience.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and against deadlines.
- Interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; self‑starter; detail oriented.
Oftentimes standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and stooping; occasional sitting and talking/thinking. Use of hands/fingers often needed. Lifting and carrying continuous/occasional 1‑100 lbs. Vision requirements for driving equipment and company vehicles: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception. Use of technology including phone, computer, printer, keyboard.
