Retail Sales Associate

$11.00 to $13.00 per hour

Commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $1.26 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates for our pawn store locations nationwide. A Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire store staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and interacting with customers in a positive, professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. The associate will work with a wide variety of jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

The position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity; pay is based on location, qualifications, and experience.

• Greet and interact with customers to develop a rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform non‑management open/close procedures.
• Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and display of merchandise.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicate to customers the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partner with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully complete assigned training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting).
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• May be asked to assist a customer outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficient basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers may earn 2‑8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance. Detailed plan information is provided during the interview process.
