2nd Shift- Entrance Gate Guard

ZTEX Construction is a heavy civil contractor specializing in earthwork, concrete, asphalt paving, underground utilities, and overall project management. We are locally owned, and we are currently in search of an Entrance Gate Guard who is looking to join a rewarding team and grow with the company. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in maintaining a secure entry, adhering to security protocols, and be a team player, positive and hardworking.

The Guard’s main responsibility is to control and secure access to a facility by monitoring and regulating who and what enters and exits. This includes verifying credentials, inspecting vehicles, and enforcing security policies. They also act as a deterrent to potential intruders and are trained to identify and report suspicious activities.

• Monitoring and controlling access points, such as gates and doors, to ensure only authorized personnel, vehicles, and visitors are permitted entry.
• Control and record the entry and exit of employees, visitors, and vendors.
• Monitor and verify employees’ departures at the end of their shifts.
• Track and verify the removal and return of equipment, machinery, and tools.
• Ensure that sensitive areas such as warehouses, workshops, and offices are properly locked and secure.
• Monitor and report any unusual behavior, damage, or unauthorized access.
• Maintain accurate logs and reports of security activities.

• Knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with security equipment: CCTV, alarms, etc.
• Basic recordkeeping skills (manual or digital)
• Strong observation, analysis and deduction skills

• Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and sound judgment

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous security, surveillance, or access control experience preferred (minimum 1 year).

• Medium/heavy - exert force of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Physical agility and fitness
• Frequent talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, crouching, reaching, handling, repetitive fine motor activities, and feeling.
• Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical screening. If applicable to the contract, you may also be required to submit through a background check. Must have reliable transportation to/from work and must have a valid driver's license at time of application.
