Safety & Loss Prevention Coordinator Warehouse
The Safety & Loss Prevention (LP) Coordinator Tier 1 Warehouse serves as a full-time, site-based role responsible for managing Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), loss prevention, physical security, and regulatory compliance within a Tier 1 warehouse or distribution center. This position ensures the effective delivery of programs, maintains accurate documentation, completes corrective actions, and prepares sites for audits. The coordinator may also provide task-specific assistance to additional locations as directed by the Regional Manager.
Shift: Mon-Fri 8-5pm
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety, Health & Compliance
- Oversee daily safety initiatives to foster a secure workplace environment and ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and DOT driver regulations.
- Perform routine safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and carry out operational walkthroughs to maintain company safety protocols.
- Manage all requisite safety records, logs, and written documentation in accordance with compliance and recordkeeping standards.
- Participate in the investigation of incidents, near-misses, and injuries, and support the effective tracking and implementation of corrective actions.
- Contribute to the management and documentation of fire protection and life safety systems, including fire alarms and suppression systems by issuing impairment notifications, facilitating drills, and confirming remediation measures.
Loss Prevention & Physical Security
- Support loss prevention, asset protection, and security controls to protect assets.
- Conduct routine security and loss prevention assessments using protocols and checklists.
- Assist with troubleshooting access control, surveillance, and alarm systems by requesting service, monitoring progress, and confirming vendor resolution.
- Respond quickly to security incidents, document actions, escalate as needed, and work with leadership or vendors to resolve issues.
- Coordinate and track repairs and break/fix activities for security systems, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems; ensure timely resolution of issues and maintain documentation of completed work.
CTPAT Program & Audit Support
- Ensure site-level compliance with CTPAT Minimum Security Criteria by regular self-assessments, audit readiness, and quick corrective action.
- Keep all CTPAT, security, and compliance records accurate and accessible for inspections.
- Assist sites with audits and corrective actions through thorough preparation, documentation, and follow-up to maintain standards across locations.
Systems & Tools
- Incident management platforms
- Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training platforms
- CCTV access control and Visitor Management Systems (VMS)
- Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or ticketing platforms
Training & Culture
- Direct onboarding activities and provide thorough safety and security training to all personnel.
- Foster a culture of safety and security by proactively engaging with employees, maintaining a visible presence, and facilitating consistent communication with site leadership.
Required
- 24 years of experience in warehouse operations, safety, loss prevention, security, or related fields
- In-depth understanding of OSHA warehouse safety regulations
- Proficient in documentation, organizational duties, and timely follow-up
- Advanced computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and effectively use warehouse management and incident reporting systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities and advanced problem-solving capability
Preferred
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple facilities within a specified region
- Proficiency with CTPAT, physical security protocols, or audit program implementation
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, or a willingness to obtain such certification
- Understanding of DOT Driver Compliance requirements
- Responsibilities are carried out in both warehouse and office environments, with regular access to operational areas.
- Periodic travel may be required to support facilities, conduct audits, or participate in training.
- A flexible schedule is essential to address off-shift incidents or emergency situations as necessary.
