Fiber Optic Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Supervisor to lead field technicians, oversee fiber installation and splicing operations, and ensure all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, extensive hands‑on fiber optic experience, and a solid understanding of construction practices and safety regulations.

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic networks, including OSP and ISP systems.
• Perform fusion splicing on various fiber types.
• Use OTDRs, optical power meters, light sources, and spectrum analyzers to test and certify fiber networks.
• Interpret OTDR traces to identify faults, abnormalities, or performance issues.
• Install underground conduit systems, cable protection, patch panels, wall outlets, and communication lines.
• Assemble and install data and telephone communication systems, wiring frames, switching equipment, and power apparatus.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and elevate major technical problems as needed.

• Enforce strict on‑site safety regulations to protect personnel and equipment.
• Maintain compliance with National Electric Code requirements for installations.
• Establish and follow quality assurance protocols to ensure work meets industry standards.
• Inspect and test equipment and machinery to detect malfunctions or wear.
• Calibrate and test equipment to locate circuit faults and ensure accuracy.

• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Extensive experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, OTDR traces, and construction drawings.
• Proficiency with fiber testing equipment and precision measurement tools.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and in physically demanding environments.
