Application Instructions
We're seeking an experienced pipe layer to join our dynamic team! If you're passionate about working on exciting civil and commercial projects and are up for a physically demanding challenge, then we want you. As a Pipe Layer, you'll be responsible for installing underground pipes of varying sizes (6"-108") by positioning, joining, and aligning them at proper depths, angles, and grades.
You'll work closely with other team members to ensure excavation activities associated with installing the pipes are performed safely and efficiently.
- Signaling equipment operators to ensure safe and proper excavation
- Establishing alignment and grade using a laser
- Aligning and joining pipe sections
- Coordinating all other activities in the excavation
- Digging and moving dirt with a hand shovel to prepare trenches for pipes and utility lines
- Operating equipment such as loaders, excavators, and backhoes as needed (if trained)
- Following all safety rules and encouraging others to do the same
- Performing other duties as assigned
- A minimum of 2 years' experience laying pipe in Highway Construction
- Physical strength and endurance: ability to carry 70 lbs. or more and perform physically demanding tasks
- Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a variety of locations and adapt to changing sites
- Good coordination, balance, depth perception, and eye-hand coordination
- Flexible availability to include overtime, nights, weekends
- High School diploma/GED preferred
- Willingness to perform general labor tasks (sweep, clean, run errands, use hammer and saw, dig trenches)
