Transmission Technician

Job Summary

The Service Technician at Mission Chevrolet is a Full Time,  on a flat rate role in the Auto industry. This individual contributor position is located in El Paso, Texas and will require a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team. A transmission technician diagnoses, repairs and if necessary replaces transmission assemblies. They remove/disassemble units to repair and test drive vehicles to verify repairs made.

Mechanical and electrical knowledge is required.

As a Service Technician at Mission Chevrolet, you will have the opportunity to earn between $25 to $50 per hour flat rate, and will receive biweekly pay.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Repair and rebuild:
  Remove, disassemble and replace failed transmission components.
• Perform fluid flushes, leaks checks, and routine maintenance.
• Recommend and carry out necessary repairs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of services and repairs.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest technology and techniques in the automotive industry.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Communicate effectively with advisors to explain repairs and address any concerns.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet team and dealership goals.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years minimum previous experience as an automotive transmission technician in a dealership is preferred.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean record.
