Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform basic repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring, etc.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on trailers.
- Repair or replace body parts such as floors, rails, landing gear, and bogies.
- Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain a high level of productivity, working within or close to set time frames.
- Drive trucks in and out of the shop to stage trailers.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and offer suggestions for complex repairs.
- Clean and maintain the work area daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to stand for long periods supporting full body weight.
- Walk up to 1,000 feet and frequently change positions.
- Move shoulders through a full range of motion in all planes.
- Reach heights over 72" frequently and crouch to 18" regularly.
- Reach and stretch across the midline with full cervical and bilateral range of motion.
- Use hand tools for extended periods of time.
- Stooping to a minimum of 30" and kneeling to 18".
- Constantly enter/exit trucks (51" and 24" steps) while supporting full body weight.
- Occasionally push 250 lbs, pull 125 lbs, and frequently push/pull 100/50 lbs.
