We are recruiting friendly, self‑motivated individuals with positive attitudes and a drive to succeed to join our growing company. We are currently searching for a full‑time Maintenance Technician to work at the Saul Kleinfeld/Western Pellicano Apartments located in El Paso, TX. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of all apartment equipment including appliances, elementary electrical systems, and plumbing.
The technician maintains and improves the operating condition, quality, and integrity of all building systems and appearances. Must have own tools.
- Perform repairs, troubleshoot systems, and complete preventive maintenance following standardized diagnostic approaches.
- Perform on‑site basic repairs of HVAC systems, appliances, water heaters, facility electrical systems, plumbing systems, and other special equipment.
- Be available for emergency maintenance calls 24 hours a day when scheduled.
- Assist in training Groundskeepers and entry‑level Maintenance Technicians.
- Troubleshoot all property systems, and perform or oversee repairs.
- Conduct maintenance‑related inspections, including building and alarm systems, and assist in preparing the property for regulatory inspections.
- Perform preventive maintenance including winterizing facilities, inspecting HVAC systems, and maintaining pool equipment and water chemistry.
- Inspect vacant units, ensuring turnovers are completed and paint turnovers as needed.
- Inspect subcontracted service providers and document work and product quality.
- Walk the grounds and common interior areas daily, removing litter and debris from lawns, planting beds, parking areas, sidewalks, ramps, and indoor spaces.
- Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, steps, and driveways.
- Attend and complete all required training.
- Complete repairs as directed.
- Perform administrative duties, including recording maintenance requests, using proper forms, and maintaining inventory of parts.
- Move heavy equipment safely using proper equipment.
- Ensure the property is maintained in accordance with all applicable Affordable Housing programs, including HUD Subsidy, USDA, RD, LIHTC, HOME, and other state and local programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Two (2) years maintenance experience required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- College degree preferred.
- HVAC and/or EPA certification preferred.
- Previous multifamily experience preferred.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
$16.00 per hour.
