Plumber – City of El Paso
Salary$44,648.45 – $66,079.70 annually

Responsibilities- Under general supervision, perform and undertake a variety of plumbing construction, repair or maintenance duties, tasks, assignments, projects and related work.
- Review, assess, repair and/or install water lines, fixtures, pipes, valves, drains, water heaters and other related equipment; assess project needs; identify, recommend and/or oversee materials, supplies, equipment and/or parts purchase and inventory.
- Repair, replace, and install piping, valves, fixtures and other items; inspect property or location; provide preventative maintenance services; clean pipes, test and validate results.
- Operate standard to specialized equipment utilized to perform duties; read, understand, interpret and apply blueprints, schematics, building plans and similar documents.
- Maintain and update files, records, reports and logs; coordinate plumbing service needs and schedules with other trades, vendors, contractors and departments.
- Perform manual labor and/or direct others assigned to assist; as authorized, direct laborers or trade helpers in routine, non‑personnel areas; make recommendations on personnel‑related matters such as assignment, delegation, training and development.
- High‑school diploma or GED (or higher) and a minimum of two (2) years of journey‑level plumbing experience.
- Texas Class "C" driver’s license or equivalent from another state; may be required to hold a Texas Backflow Prevention Tester certification or a Texas journey‑level plumbing license by appointment.
- Strong knowledge of blueprints, plans, schematics, and construction documents; familiarity with proper tools, equipment, safety requirements, techniques and principles related to plumbing.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and similar documents and to operate both standard and specialized equipment.
- Experience coordinating with other trades, vendors, contractors and departments; ability to manage materials, supplies and inventory for projects.
