Job SummaryThe Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for diagnosing, installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining equipment, as well as ensuring that it meets safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Familiarity with fire alarm systems required. Familiar with Intrusion detection, access control, and video surveillance systems is a plus.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues or malfunctions in equipment and systems.
- Repair or replace faulty components, parts, or systems.
- Conduct tests and calibrations to verify equipment performance and accuracy.
- Install, assemble, and dismantle equipment and systems as required.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve technical issues.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and technologies to provide effective solutions.
- Provide technical support and assistance to customers or end-users.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once, switching between various tasks quickly.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; required.
- Technical certification or associate degree in a related field; preferred.
- Strong knowledge of technical systems, equipment, and tools.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
