The Equipment Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role based in El Paso, TX. This position is responsible for overseeing the selection, scheduling, maintenance, and safe operation of construction and pipeline equipment used on oil and gas projects. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include coordinating equipment availability with project managers and field supervisors, tracking equipment usage and condition, and arranging preventative maintenance and repairs. The Equipment Manager will manage equipment inventories and records, work with vendors and service providers, and help control costs related to rentals, fuel, and parts.
The role also supports compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, trains team members on proper equipment use and inspection, and contributes to continuous improvement of equipment processes and standards.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction or heavy equipment fleets, preferably within the oil and gas or pipeline industry.
- Strong skills in equipment scheduling, utilization tracking, and preventative maintenance planning.
- Ability to work closely with field teams, project managers, and vendors to align equipment needs with project timelines and budget constraints.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to heavy equipment operation, inspection, and transportation.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and equipment management or maintenance tracking systems.
- Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience leading or coordinating teams, including providing guidance on equipment use and safety expectations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications in equipment maintenance, fleet management, or a related field are preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to project sites as needed.
- Prior experience in construction, pipeline, or industrial environments is strongly preferred.
