Position Information
Hiring Department: Facilities Management
Reports To: Associate Director of Facilities Operations
Job Location: El Paso, Texas (On Site)

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday
- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Flexibility is required on evenings and weekends.

Required Application Materials- Resume
- Installs, repairs and inspects electronic components.
- Performs emergency services and schedules preventative maintenance and inspections on fire alarm panels with all of their peripheral devices (power supplies, wiring, and initiating and notification devices).
- Installs, maintains and repairs electronic access control systems such as; automatic electrically controlled vehicular gates, accessible electronic door openers and their peripheral devices (wireless tx‑rx push buttons, loop detectors, card readers, and voice intercoms).
- Performs inspections on the emergency electric generators, reports and records the status data (run time, oil level, fuel level, coolant level and troubles).
- Estimates labor and material cost; reports the estimate to superior and work order initiator.
- Tests, diagnoses and repairs faulty equipment according to the product’s specifications and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems.
- Coordinates with other trades and department supervisors on work projects and be able to lead them from beginning to end.
- Maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
- Must be available on an “On Call” basis.
- Overtime may be required.
- Has knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and be able to learn and use institutional software systems.
- Complies with all State and University policies.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two year College or technical school within area of assigned responsibility.
- Experience: Three years of experience related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Fire Alarm Panels, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 72 Fire Alarm Codes, Networking Connections and Functions (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, RJ45 pinout and protocols).
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Siemens DESIGO Building Automation Platform.
Note: This position requires a valid, state issued driver's license.
