Education and Experience:

High School Diploma, GED or higher and three (3) years of experience in concrete finishing and cement projects including sidewalks, and curbs.
Licenses and Certificates:
Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state by the time of appointment.

General Purpose
Under general supervision, is responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, inlets, or curbs to specified textures using hand tools or power tools.

Typical Duties
Prepare for construction and setting of concrete forms. Involves:
Measuring and marking dimensions and estimating materials needed for the job. Works from blueprints, sketches, or instructions. Removes broken concrete; ensures concrete forms are set into position for pouring concrete; ensures appropriate concrete depth is attained.

Utilizes concrete finishing equipment to plaster and repair old concrete; hand finishes fresh concrete. Involves:
Pouring of ready-mix concrete and the operation of automatic curb machine. Repairs old concrete structures using concrete bonding chemicals. Pouring and rough finishing concrete, street, and sidewalk repair. Setting and/or repairing catch basins, manholes, concrete pipes and boxes, and new concrete construction.
