Position Summary

As a Foreman, you will be the first line supervisor with crew level responsibility for employees involved in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on any type of project. This is a safety sensitive position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all CEC field trades on an electrical construction crew or project.
  • Supervise other employees’ quality and productivity in a professional manner.
  • Coordinate with other contractors and trades on site to ensure smooth workflow of projects.
  • Lay out work for subordinate lead persons and jointly ensure that material, tools, equipment, information, and appropriate manpower are in the proper place in a timely fashion.
  • Manage man‑loading charts and write schedules.
  • Direct subordinate crew in installation of electrical feeders, pumps, motors, generators, switch gear, relays, circuit breaker panels, lighting fixtures, outlets, and related connections and terminations.
  • Monitor work as performed, direct subordinate crews, and schedule work according to the pace of the job and other trades.
  • May perform work being supervised for either production or instruction.
  • Manage office correspondence and administrative paperwork such as official forms, daily reports, timesheets, and safety reporting.
  • Ensure crew or project safety performance, confirm employees are properly trained, and investigate accidents or safety incidents involving jobsite employees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects, and smooth operation of the department.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Current Journeyman Electrician License (must be licensed in TX or a reciprocal state as defined by the TX licensing agency).
  • Minimum 6 years or more of commercial/industrial electrical experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and own reliable transportation.
  • Must meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.
  • Must be able to pass drug and background checks.
  • Travel up to 15% may be required based on company needs.
  • Strong believer in safety.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment

May work inside or outside. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, rain, heat, cold and snow. Requires work at extreme heights, in construction areas or restricted areas such as switch gear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, or attics; confined spaces; slippery or uneven surfaces; ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, ditches and excavations; single and multi‑story buildings with typical heavy construction site exposures.

Portable sanitary facilities may be used.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Lift 51 pounds routinely and move constantly on foot.
  • Climb ladders of all types.
  • Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.
  • Transition from parking area to construction work areas and access all building levels, even if the only means of access is an OSHA‑approved ladder or stairs under construction.
  • Secure tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
  • Good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception) and hearing (normal or corrected). Identify different colors of wiring and wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.
  • Work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, overtime, weekends and night shifts as required.
  • Work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no disruption, maintaining a professional and courteous image.
