Trailer Technician

The Trailer Technician repairs and maintains trailers to ensure operational efficiency and compliance, achieving recognition for key support within the team and promptly resolving issues as they arise under management direction.

• Tuesday‑Saturday 3:30 pm – 12:00 am
• Monday‑Friday 8:00 pm – 4:30 am

• Inspect and repair trailers to meet company/OEM standards.
• Perform DOT and general inspections to ensure compliance.
• Repair or replace tires following company guidelines for PSI, wear, and tread depth.
• Conduct general fleet maintenance on trailers, including lights, air brakes, wheel ends, suspension, and other repairs.
• Document completed work, including 3
  
  Cs and notes, in company maintenance software.
• Inspect and clean parts and submit orders for replacement parts when necessary.
• Confirm proper equipment function post‑repair.
• Use tools to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.
• Assist Trailer Supervisor with various tasks as required.
• Maintain a clean work area.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years or more experience in mechanic experience and/or training.
• Licensed Mechanic Journeyman preferred.
• Trailer Mechanic must be DOT certified.

• Indoor and outdoor environment.
• Employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions including direct sunlight and heat.
• Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold and extreme heat.
• Employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
