Electrician (Per Diem Available)
This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in a construction environment. You will work extended shifts from Monday through Saturday, performing conduit installation, wiring, and equipment setup in accordance with electrical codes and safety standards. The position requires strong technical skills, the ability to read and interpret electrical documentation, and a commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to plan and execute installations accurately.
- Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, panels, transformers, motors, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults using multimeters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Perform circuit installations and modifications in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety standards.
- Install and terminate conductors, devices, switches, receptacles, lighting systems, and electrical equipment.
- Maintain and repair power distribution systems, motor controls, and automation components to ensure reliable operation.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and electrical inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with code and safety practices.
- Coordinate daily work with contractors, inspectors, and other trades to support project schedules and quality requirements.
- Train and mentor apprentices by demonstrating proper techniques in conduit bending, wiring, installations, and troubleshooting.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines and project milestones.
- Communicate technical information clearly to customers, supervisors, and team members to support safe and efficient operations.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, conduit, panels, transformers, motors, and controls.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems using multimeters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and ability to perform circuit installations and modifications in compliance with code.
- Skilled in installing and terminating conductors, devices, switches, receptacles, lighting systems, and electrical equipment.
- Experience maintaining and repairing power distribution systems, motor controls, and automation components.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, including AC and DC systems.
- Knowledge of grounding and bonding practices and their application in construction environments.
- Competence in motor controls and drives, lighting systems, and power distribution.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostics for complex electrical issues.
- Commitment to code compliance and safe work practices at all times.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, inspectors, and other trades.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Valid TDLR license.
- OSHA 10 certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience training and mentoring apprentices in electrical installation and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with conduit bending, pulling wire, and running conduit in a construction setting.
- Familiarity with construction environments, including both interior and exterior work areas.
- Comfort working extended hours and managing workload during periods of significant overtime.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Work Environment
The role is based in a construction environment that includes both indoor and outdoor work areas. You will work Monday through Saturday on a schedule of extended 10-hour shifts, with substantial opportunities for overtime. The work involves using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and megohmmeters, as well as standard electrical hand and power tools for conduit bending, wiring, and equipment installation.
You will regularly collaborate with other trades, inspectors, and contractors on active job sites, following strict safety practices and electrical codes in all conditions.
