Job Overview
The Uthe Group is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Senior HVAC Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a highly skilled technician with extensive experience diagnosing, repairing, installing, and servicing commercial HVAC equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems.
- Install new HVAC equipment and components according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, checks, and services.
- Service systems including Package Units, Bard Units, Liebert Systems, Stulz Systems, Split Systems, Mini‑Split Systems, and Chillers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC components.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate professionally with customers and project managers.
- Mentor and support less experienced technicians when needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for accountability and future reference.
- 10+ years of commercial HVAC experience
- Extensive diagnostic and installation experience
- Experience servicing commercial HVAC systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions
- Valid Driver's License
- Clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Certifications including EPA refrigerant handling certification; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or HVAC design are a plus.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics with experience using ohmmeters and other testing equipment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments.
- Experience working on government or commercial facilities
- Strong knowledge of HVAC controls
- Experience leading projects or mentoring technicians
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, welding techniques, boiler operation, and property maintenance practices.
