Engineer II

Courtyard by Marriott is urgently seeking a skilled and motivated Engineer II to join our Engineering team. The Engineer II is responsible for maintaining hotel facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and exceptional experience for our guests and associates. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel property. Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Operate, inspect, and repair building systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality. Maintain and troubleshoot commercial kitchen equipment and related systems. Perform general repairs, construction, and maintenance projects as needed. Understand and efficiently maintain advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems. Diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs in a timely manner.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns. Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and opportunities for improvement. Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and emergencies. Maintain accurate records of work performed, repairs completed, and preventive maintenance activities. Follow all Marriott brand standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Assist with projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous hotel engineering or commercial maintenance experience required. Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, commercial kitchen equipment, and general building construction required. Vocational training, associate degree, certification, and/or apprenticeship in one or more technical areas preferred. State certification or licensing where required. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. High work ethic, self-initiative, and ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various areas of the hotel. Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as needed. Ability to safely operate tools and maintenance equipment.
