Requirements

MOS Code: 003813 (Navy) Education and Experience: A High School diploma, GED or higher and five (5) years of experience in construction, maintenance or repair of water wells or pumping stations or maintenance of various treatment equipment used at a water or wastewater plant, including two (2) years lead work or supervisory experience. Licenses and Certificates:
Some positions will require a Class "D" Water Operations License issued by the State of Texas within one (1) year after appointment and a Class "C" Water Operators License issued by the State of Texas required within two and a half (2.5) years of appointment. A valid Texas Driver's License and a Commercial Driver's License Class A or B will be required within six (6) months after appointment including a HAZMAT endorsement on some positions.

ELIGIBILITY FOR VACATION LEAVE All regular employees who are regularly scheduled to work on an average, a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week, who have held a position in the City Service for a period of six months from date of employment, shall be eligible for vacation allowance as hereinafter set forth.

Part-time employees shall accrue vacation leave at a pro-rated amount of full-time entitlement based on the number of hours that they are scheduled to work. Employees covered by collective bargaining agreements shall accrue vacation as provided in the applicable agreement.
