About the Role:

The Dock and Door Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation and safety of loading docks and overhead doors at our Little Rock Branch. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of dock equipment and door systems, directly impacting the smooth flow of goods in our wholesale trade operations. The technician will work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with safety standards.

By proactively identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical issues, the Dock and Door Tech helps to prevent operational delays and costly repairs. Ultimately, this role supports the overall productivity and safety of the facility, contributing to customer satisfaction and business success.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in mechanical or electrical repair, preferably with dock equipment or overhead doors.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Little Rock Branch.
  • Capability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in electrical or mechanical trades.
  • Experience working in a wholesale trade or warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in dock equipment.
  • Basic welding or fabrication skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to dock and door operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on dock levelers, seals, shelters, and overhead doors to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and execute timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics personnel to schedule maintenance activities that align with operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support asset management.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while performing all duties.

Skills:

The Dock and Door Technician utilizes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills daily to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with team members and reporting maintenance activities clearly. Technical reading skills enable the technician to understand complex manuals and schematics, ensuring accurate repairs and installations. Physical dexterity and stamina are necessary to handle tools, parts, and equipment safely in a fast-paced environment.

Additionally, problem-solving skills help the technician anticipate potential failures and implement preventive maintenance strategies to support continuous operations.
