Overview

This role provides expert training, education, and ongoing support to caseworkers within the Adult Behavioral Health Division. The Lead Caseworker maintains a reduced caseload to ensure continued proficiency in current best practices and to effectively support staff development. The lead will deliver comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training, conducting thorough performance reviews (90 and 180-day), performing chart audits, session shadowing and providing guidance and mentorship.

The Lead Caseworker will also foster a collaborative environment through effective communication with peers, supervisors, and clients while prioritizing safety and operational efficiency.

This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. This position reports to the Social Support Services Supervisor.

The functions listed below represent most of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

• Become certified as an Adult Needs and Strength Assessment Superuser.
• Become a subject matter expert within all allowable evidence‑based practices utilized by adult behavioral health caseworkers.
• Provides guidance and training and shadowing on good documentation practices (GDP), adult needs and strengths assessments (ANSA), person‑centered recovery plans (PCRP), and the illness management and recovery (IMR) services delivered by Qualified Mental Health Practitioner‑CS (QMHP‑CS).
• Performs monthly quality assurance audits of service delivery and documentation to verify that trained staff consistently maintain quality standards and adhere to good documentation practices.
• Maintain understanding of TRR services and UM Guidelines for all levels of care.
• Provide training to new caseworkers and program staff to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills related to caseworker services, processes, and applicable policies.
• Demonstrate professional and flexible time management to meet the needs of the individuals served.
• Develop and implement innovative strategies to foster positive morale, teamwork, and engagement among caseworkers.
• Provide regular performance feedback to the Program Supervisor regarding the progress or areas for improvement of trained staff.
• Provides ongoing case management services, skills training and rehabilitation services for youth and/or adults with mental illness and/or individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Coordinates and provides related services.
• Demonstrates a positive role model to youth and/or adults and advocates on their and their family's behalf.
• Responsible for coordination, planning and implementation of the Recovery Plan.
• Provides rehabilitative services including general symptom management, community living skills, and employment related skills to increase client independence and ability to maintain community tenure.
• Maintains compliance with all Joint Commission training requirements relevant to job duties, including but not limited to those dealing with the use of restraints and physical holding of individuals receiving services.
• Required to provide home visits following program requirements or as directed by Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requires a Bachelor's, Master's preferred, degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Sciences or related behavioral field; supplemented by two (2) years of direct casework/case management experience; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
