Responsibilities
The RN will perform intake assessments, provide crisis intervention, and deliver information about hospital services to patients. The RN will refer patients who do not meet admission criteria to community resources to ensure continuity of care. The RN will assist with call center functions and other duties to support the needs of the Psych E.D.
AvailabilityThursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday.
Qualifications- Education:
Master’s Degree in a human relations field or Registered Nurse. - Experience:
Preferably two or more years in intake assessment within an acute psychiatric setting; a minimum of two years in a psychiatric hospital setting, including customer contact and crisis intervention. - Licensure:
Licensed to practice in Texas as a mental health professional (LPC, LPC-Intern, LMSW, or LCSW) or RN. - Additional Requirements:
Working knowledge of DSM‑V and the Mental Status Exam; working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field; successful completion of Handle With Care Training within 90 days of employment; current CPR certification; ability to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
