CDL Driver – Heavy Equipment Transport

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Driver with a strong background in transporting heavy equipment. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience loading and unloading excavators, paving machines, and other heavy machinery, as well as properly securing loads using chains and straps in compliance with DOT regulations.

• Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport heavy equipment to and from job sites.
• Load and unload excavators, paving machines, and various heavy machinery.
• Secure equipment using chains, binders, and straps according to DOT standards.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of truck and trailer.
• Ensure all necessary paperwork, logs, and documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Maintain communication with dispatch and project managers regarding delivery schedules.
• Follow all company safety policies and federal/state transportation regulations.

• Valid CDL (
  Class A preferred) with clean driving record.
• Minimum [X] years of experience transporting heavy equipment.
• Proven experience loading/unloading excavators, paving machines, and similar machinery.
• Strong knowledge of load securement using chains, binders, and straps.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment for loading/unloading purposes.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• OSHA certification.
• Experience with lowboy, flatbed, or step‑deck trailers.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment.
