Job Summary:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, load, unload, and stack products or materials in a warehouse, distribution center, or construction site. This role requires strict adherence to safety guidelines and operational efficiency, ensuring that materials are handled correctly, stored in proper locations, and delivered to appropriate areas.

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate Forklift:
Safely operate a forklift to transport materials, products, or equipment within the warehouse, storage yards, or job sites.

* Loading and Unloading:
Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, or shelving units, ensuring proper stacking and placement for easy retrieval.

* Inventory Management:
Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory by moving materials to correct locations and maintaining order in the warehouse.

* Safety Compliance:
Follow safety protocols for forklift operation and warehouse safety, including wearing required safety gear and ensuring proper handling of materials.

* Inspect Equipment:
Conduct daily safety checks and maintenance of the forklift to ensure it is in proper working condition. Report any mechanical issues to the supervisor.

* Material Handling:
Assist in moving large or heavy items safely to prevent damage to products and injury to oneself or others.

* Stock and Inventory:
Support inventory management by moving products as needed for stocktaking, shipping, or receiving purposes.

* Warehouse Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including aisles and storage areas, to ensure efficient movement of materials.

* Assist with Order Fulfillment:
Work with other warehouse staff to ensure that the right products are picked, packed, and shipped on time.

* Documentation:
Record and report any discrepancies in inventory or damages that occur during handling.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Valid forklift certification (required by most employers).

* Previous experience operating forklifts or similar equipment in a warehouse or industrial setting is preferred.

* Knowledge of safety standards and warehouse safety protocols.

* Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

* Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

* Attention to detail and accuracy in moving and stacking materials.

* Basic math skills to verify quantities and order details.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

* Ability to stand, sit, and operate a forklift for extended periods of time.

* Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to handle materials.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads.
