POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Position Overview:
Garda World Federal Services (GWFS) is seeking an operationally focused Mission Manager to oversee large-scale transportation and fleet operations supporting a detention facility in El Paso, Texas. Serving as the critical operational intermediary coordinating efforts between GWFS, our subcontractor and the prime contractor, this position is responsible for managing a large fleet of transport vehicles dedicated to the safe, secure, and timely movement of residents.
The ideal candidate will directly manage high-consequence flight line operations, establish rigorous vehicle inspection and maintenance tracking systems to correct recent readiness deficiencies, and implement a strategic contingency reserve plan to eliminate service disruptions and restore customer confidence.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Some of your duties may include:
- Act as the central communication hub and operational intermediary between GWFS leadership, the Fleet Manager, and the Senior Logistics Manager.
- Align subcontractor execution with prime contractor expectations, ensuring seamless transmission of mission requirements, scheduling changes, and asset availability updates.
- Develop, implement, and enforce standardized pre-mission vehicle inspection procedures to eliminate operational inconsistency across the entire transport footprint.
- Establish strict verification and documentation protocols for all pre-deployment readiness checks, including fuel levels, fluids, battery connections, and windshield wipers.
- Conduct regular audits and spot-checks of pre-mission logs to guarantee complete compliance and documentation prior to any vehicle deployment.
- Oversee the subcontractor's maintenance program to ensure strict compliance with preventative maintenance standards and federal regulations.
- Build and maintain a centralized tracking system for all preventative maintenance records and supporting documentation to provide real-time visibility into fleet readiness status.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify recurring mechanical issues and track compliance trends to predict and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Provide direct, on-the-ground management and operational oversight for all high-stakes transportation activities occurring at the flight line.
- Ensure precise synchronization between vehicle arrival, and resident transfer protocols under tight security constraints and time windows.
- Enforce strict safety regulations and compliance measures during all flight line transit operations.
- Drive fleet operational readiness metrics back above designated target thresholds to ensure robust mission redundancy.
- Evaluate the makeup of the current fleet and establish an adequate contingency reserve strategy to absorb unexpected mechanical failures and protect customer confidence.
- Five to seven or more years of progressive experience in large-scale fleet management, tactical logistics, or high-security transportation operations.
- Professional background in detention or military logistics, federal contracting transportation, or law enforcement transport environments is highly preferred.
- Proven experience working within a multi-tiered contracting structure, specifically managing relationships and enforcing accountability between primes and subcontractors.
- Must possess familiarity with digital-based maintenance programs (such as PBUSE, GCSS-A, Fleet Focus, etc.).
- Demonstrated familiarity with flight line logistics, safety compliance, and transit coordination.
- Assertive leadership and communication skills necessary to enforce performance standards across distinct organizational boundaries while maintaining collaborative relationships.
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours, early mornings, or weekends to provide direct oversight during critical flight line mission windows
