Transfer Specialist

Job Responsibilities

• Removal of deceased safely, following local and state laws and company policies.
• Drive company-owned professional vehicles to perform “first call” removals.
• Follow chain-of-custody, paperwork, and deceased identification processes.
• Cooperate with first responders, coroner, hospital staff, or senior living facilities, accommodating their processes and procedures.
• For home removals, interact courteously with bereaved families, exercising sensitivity and minimizing conversation.
• Follow procedures for removing soiled garments, bedding, or other materials; leave a warm and courteous impression.
• Enter deceased event information into proprietary software according to company procedures.
• Transport caskets to airports, care centers, or funeral homes; assist with moving caskets.
• Wash, vacuum, and clean company vehicles, ensuring they are presentable.
• Fuel vehicles as necessary.
• Follow safety guidelines and expenditure processes.
• Maintain personal protective and removal supplies in vehicles, including cleaning products.
• Identify vehicle engine or operating issues, report to management, and drive vehicles for repair or inspection.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Licenses:
  Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Experience:
  
  At least one year as a courier or driver, with direct customer interaction strongly preferred.

• Work schedule to support business needs, including weekends, nights, and holidays on a rotation.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds.
• Drive safely in hazardous, heavy traffic, and adverse weather conditions.
• Basic computer skills required.
